About us

Cooperating Ministry was founded in 1981 to provide coordinated emergency resources and assistance to people in need. Cooperating Ministry is funded from several sources: the thrift store provides the income that covers the costs of operating the ministry, including utilities, insurance, salaries, and running the office. Donations from individuals, churches, businesses, the United Way, and other organizations support the ministry. Funds are also received from grants and government agencies.

Cooperating Ministry needs many volunteers in order to continue operating. Numerous people from the community assist in the operation of the Ministry in many aspects and on an as-needed basis. Outside of business hours and on weekends, needs for assistance are handled by qualified on-call volunteers.

No person will be excluded from services on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, or handicap.
